D. Johnston & Co. - Dish (2) - Earthenware, Creamware - Pair of compotiers

Rare collection set, in fine earthenware, from the Bordeaux manufactory of David Johnston, consisting of two identical compotiers.
David Johnston is the founder of the Bordeaux porcelain manufactory in 1836 and would later partner with the renowned Vieillard in 1845, then hand the company over to him. He would also become mayor of Bordeaux between 1838 and 1842.
Signature on the underside of each piece.
Condition:
Despite its 200 years of age, the decoration is not altered and its condition is still excellent.
