AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

- Work supplied with a certificate of authenticity, signed and numbered by the artist SKE.
- Number 03/30

With ROLL’ART, SKE inaugurates a new series of contemporary sculptures built around a simple yet powerful principle: the wrapped object as a fragment of memory, as a pop relic, as a symbol compressed into a sculptural form.

The series isn’t limited to banknotes. Each model will explore a different theme: nostalgia, pop culture, icons, luxury, history, cult objects, or popular references. Here, this first variant pays tribute to one of the most iconic notes of the old French currency: the 100 franc Delacroix bill.

Gone from circulation, this bill remains etched in the collective imagination. Its warm colors, vintage graphics, and the presence of Liberty Leading the People make it much more than a simple old means of payment: it’s a piece of French history, a pocket memory, a symbol of an era when money still had a tangible feel, a scent, a sound, a presence.

By choosing to transform it into a wrapped sculpture, held together by a rough rope, SKE gives it a new life. The bill is no longer seen only as an old image: it becomes a work of art, a capsule of nostalgia, a collectible piece at the crossroads of popular memory, French heritage, and contemporary appropriation.

Made from 3 mm polymer material, this work stands about 17 cm tall and 8 cm in diameter. Each piece is hand-shaped, making every piece slightly different, with its own curves, tensions, irregularities, and details. Even in a limited edition, each sculpture retains the character of a singular work.

This model is editioned in a limited series of 30 copies, signed, numbered, and accompanied by its certificate of authenticity.

A piece designed for collectors of contemporary art, pop art, and street art, but also for enthusiasts of old francs, vanished banknotes, and memory-laden objects. A work that is at once nostalgic, decorative, and deeply French, where value no longer circulates: it is collected.

Artist Bio:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all-rounder who grew up in the culture of the 80s/90s, inspiring a large share of his artworks.

He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic, expressive compositions, often with double meaning, fuse the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.

After an exceptional 2025, SKE’s market value has risen notably. He won the first prize at the Urban Master contest (2023) and was chosen as the Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025), selected as "Artist of the Month" by Galerie Opulence in October; he also featured in an American art magazine, confirming his international recognition.

His works have already been exhibited in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, cementing his place on the contemporary art scene. At the same time, SKE is also making a mark in the digital art market, a major trend in the last two years, strengthening the appeal of his pieces to collectors.

Icons of popular culture, bold graphics, and texture play define a style that is now essential.

SKE is undoubtedly an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.

Artist Rated & Awarded – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art

AN UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY SKE’s work fits into a prestigious lineage. His line carries the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works bridge the eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to distort the Mona Lisa by Da Vinci, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront them with a modern urban aesthetics close to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.

POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming and comics is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.

LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside the logos of luxury and fashion giants. His canvases capture the aesthetics of “Hype”: you encounter the sneaker world (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass-consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It’s vibrant art, with textured finishes that sometimes echo the glossy surface of Jeff Koons or the facets of a Richard Orlinski.

This work is ideal for enriching a collection or adding a dynamic touch to your interior.
