You are bidding on a fine old violin stamped “Nicolas Bertolini.”
The instrument is in good ready-to-play condition and shows some old professionally repaired cracks on the top, consistent with its age. It is fitted with quality old ebony and rosewood fittings, an old Aubert bridge, and new strings.
The violin produces a very deep, rich, mellow, and powerful tone with excellent warmth and projection.
Measurements: total length 595 mm, body length 364 mm, upper bouts 169 mm, middle bouts 116 mm, lower bouts 207 mm.
