With Bubble Sanctuary, I wanted to create a comforting image, like a pause away from the world’s noise.
The koala becomes a calm, contemplative character, settled into an intimate, welcoming setting.
The piece deliberately plays on the contrast between the sophistication of the place and the simplicity of the animal to evoke a soft, universal emotion.
