Authentic pair of antique French Pigeon lamps in brass, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.
These emblematic fixtures of French domestic lighting still retain their original blown-glass globes as well as their knobs and engraved inscriptions.
The cylindrical brass body bears the famous advertising marks:
« Lampe Pigeon garantie véritable »
as well as the well-known commercial warning:
« To the customer who will blow up a Pigeon lamp… »
Created by Charles Pigeon at the end of the 19th century, these mineral fuel lamps were designed as a safer alternative to traditional oil lamps. They have today become iconic objects of French industrial history and are highly sought after by collectors.

Diameter: 8 cm
Weight: approximately 1 kg per lamp
Total weight: 2 kg
Condition:
Good antique condition with superb brass patina.
Glasses present.
Signs of use and oxidation consistent with age.
To note: one mounting/handle shows a broken weld visible in the photographs.
