La Stalla is an oil-on-panel painting from 1985 by Italian artist Eduardo Cerrone (1935–2010), measuring 25 × 40 cm, signed by hand, original, depicting an interior scene in the contemporary period (1980–1990), in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
This is an oil painting on a wooden panel, measuring 25 cm x 40 cm, 8 mm thick, supplied unframed. As shown in the photos, it is signed in the lower left with red paint and authenticated with a full signature on the back of the work, presumably painted in the 1980s/1990s.
It was painted by the artist Eduardo Cerrone of Naples, born in 1935 and died in 2011, who situates himself within the modern/contemporary painting context, while adopting a traditional figurative style.
I had the opportunity to personally know this affable artist, who had welcomed me with sympathy and warmth during one of my business trips, at his home in Vomero.
He is best known as an animal painter of pastoral scenes, often depicting peasants, barns, and animals in a rural setting.
His works stand out for their high painting quality, with visible brushstrokes and a soft color palette, frequently executed in oil on panel, as in our case.
Although his style recalls classical and bucolic painting, his production is active in the second half of the 20th century.
His works regularly go to auction, with an active market, especially in the figurative painting category. In short, it is modern (or contemporary, since he was active until 2011) figurative painting with classical subjects and techniques.
