Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.

New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons

The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary reinterpretation of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction composed of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it reveals a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts as an “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject represented. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Extensive work is undertaken on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner.

Edition & Manufacturing

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies plus 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by an authenticity certificate. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in rear mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with a soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary look.

Career

Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the official photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual work, he develops authorial and musical projects including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he is currently performing with the band FRENZY.
