Description from the seller
I for Indiana — The Artphabet
Edition 2/10 — 60 x 60 cm
This work is part of The Artphabet, an artistic project developed by digital artist Cess, in which each letter of the alphabet pays homage to key figures in contemporary art and visual culture.
In this piece, the letter I is transformed into a tribute to Robert Indiana, reinterpreting his iconic visual language based on typography, color, and the power of a direct message. The composition recalls his famous sculptures and graphic works, where letters become universal symbols charged with meaning.
The structure presents a solid and bold geometry, with flat, vibrant colors — intense reds and contrasting blues — that evoke the unmistakable style of the artist within the pop movement. The inclusion of a circular element at the top introduces a formal reference to his most recognizable compositions, where typography gains a sculptural dimension.
The piece rests on a base that reinforces its presence as an exhibiting object, bringing it closer to the language of public and monumental sculpture characteristic of Indiana. The formal simplicity and the use of color create an immediate, direct, and visually powerful reading.
The detail of the small dove introduces a subtle poetic counterpoint, adding a more intimate and contemporary dimension to the work, in contrast to the geometric roundness of the structure.
The work was created through a completely digital 3D process (CGI), modeled in an artisanal way with special attention to proportions, surface cleanliness, and the interaction of light with matte and satin finishes, achieving a precise and balanced aesthetic.
The Artphabet has had wide international resonance, being disseminated in numerous design, art, and visual culture outlets, solidifying itself as one of the most prominent typography projects in the recent digital realm.
Cess is an artist specialized in digital art, CGI, and artificial intelligence, with an established career in the creative sector, having collaborated with international brands such as Apple, Google, Prada, Vogue, and MTV, among others.
The work is presented in high-quality Giclée print on poly-cotton canvas, ensuring excellent color reproduction, form, and the sculptural presence of the digital original.
