About
The German photographer Manfred Paul is one of the formative voices of contemporary documentary photography in Germany. He became known for his poetic black-and-white photographs, which translate urban spaces, still lifes and quiet observations of everyday life into a reduced, often melancholic visual language. Since the 1970s, Manfred Paul has developed a consistent body of work between documentation and artistic reflection. His works have been exhibited internationally and included in prominent collections of contemporary photography. Manfred Paul is regarded as an important representative of German art photography and the conceptual black-and-white photography of the 20th and 21st centuries.
