Description from the seller

Title “Consciousness’’
Alexandra Cazacu (Romania, Bucharest)

I am a visual artist based in Bucharest, and my relationship with art began in childhood, in the studios where I grew up experimenting freely. Over the years, I have worked with acrylics, charcoal and clay, each stage helping me clarify my direction and shape my own visual language.
Oil painting entered my life later, but it quickly became the medium in which I feel most at home. It transformed the way I create and experience art, giving me the freedom to build images that are more intense, more intimate and layered with meaning.
In my work, I explore the relationship between consciousness, nature and archetypal symbolism. I am drawn to the subtle space between the real and the invisible, where emotion, instinct and symbol meet and open an inner landscape. Each painting is a form of searching and reconnection, both with myself and with something larger. I want the viewer to step into this depth and discover, in their own rhythm, the quiet and sensitive layers that lie beyond the surface.

This oil painting on canvas, measuring 110 × 100 cm, is the largest work I have created so far a significant step in my artistic evolution and in the way I express my inner world.

In this composition, I bring together three elements that are essential to me: the cat, the magical mushrooms, and the cosmos.
The cat represents my spiritual animal, a guiding and protective presence. I chose to integrate it into the painting as a Daimon, inspired by The Golden Compass, a companion that reflects the deepest, instinctive part of myself.

The magical mushrooms grow from Mother Nature, shown in her purest form: nude, original, untouched. For me, mushrooms symbolize transformation and ancient knowledge, beings that have existed on Earth for millions of years. I see them as carriers of wisdom that has shaped us subtly, almost blindly, without us even realizing it.

The surrounding cosmos represents everything the space where life, nature, spirit and mystery meet. Although the painting may appear darker at first glance, its core message is bright and simple: love. Love as the fundamental force, the energy that connects all these elements and, ultimately, the only thing that truly matters.

The work is signed on the back, as I prefer to keep the front surface clean and visually untouched.
