"Metal mesh purses": metal mesh evening bag or chainmail purse.
Fully handmade by crocheting hundreds of metal rings together.
The material is "alpacca" or "German Silver": an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel.
It was formerly used as a chic evening bag or as a coin purse.
The bag measures 17 x 21 cm.
Signed on the inside of the clasp "Austria".
The bag is in perfect condition; nothing is missing or has come loose.
A rare collectible!

Art Nouveau zilverkleurig avondtasje met een kettinkje.
Art Nouveau: 1890-1920.
"Metal mesh purses": metalen gaas avondtasje of maliënkoldertasje.
Volledig met de hand gemaakt door honderden metalen ringetjes in elkaar te haken.
Materiaal is "alpacca" of "German Silver": een legering van koper, zink en nikkel.
Werd vroeger gebruikt als chique avondtasje of als beursje voor kleingeld.
Het tasje meet 17 x 21 cm.
Gesigneerd aan de binnenkant van het knipslotje "Austria".
Het tasje verkeert in perfecte staat, niets ontbreekt of is losgekomen.
