Platter - Silverplated - silver-plated tray

Antique and richly decorated tray or presenting dish, hand-forged and made of silvered metal from the late Victorian period and detailed with the typical Victorian Neo-Baroque style.
It has a pattern of scrollwork (volutes), flowers and leaves.
The dish is adorned with repoussé work, a technique in which the metal is hammered from the back to create a relief pattern on the front.
The pattern features detailed acanthus leaves and centrally there is a cartouche (shield) with initials; above there is an elegant bird depicted.
Probably manufactured by one of the well-known British silversmiths such as Henry Wilkinson Ltd or William Comyns.
Origin: England.
Period: 1870-1900.
The dish is in perfect condition, without any damage.
