Description from the seller

Original Vintage Polish Circus Poster — Waldemar Swierzy, “Cyrk” (Seal), c. 1967
A striking original lithographic poster by Waldemar Swierzy (1931–2013), one of the most celebrated masters of the Polish School of Posters. This iconic “Cyrk” (Circus) design features a performing seal against a vivid red background, rendered in Swierzy’s bold, expressive graphic style.
Printed by WAG (Wydawnictwo Artystyczno-Graficzne), Warsaw — the principal state art publisher of the period, guaranteeing authenticity of this first edition print.
Details:
• Designer: Waldemar Swierzy
• Title: Cyrk (Circus)
• Printer: WAG / WDA 2, Warsaw
• Year: c. 1967
• Dimensions: 67 x 98 cm
• Condition: Good/Very Good. Light folds consistent with age and original storage. Minor wear to edges. Image area largely intact.

A slight chromatic misregistration is visible along the edges, where the red ink layer did not fully align during the lithographic printing process, revealing a thin strip of unprinted paper. Far from being a flaw, this is a characteristic fingerprint of original hand-fed offset lithography of the period and a reliable authentication marker absent from any modern reproduction.

A rare survival from an extremely limited original print run, produced as ephemeral advertising material in communist-era Poland.
