CURATOR BIOGRAPHY :
Aket Kubic, born on May 20, 1989 in Grande-Synthe, in the north of France. He is a contemporary French street artist whose work transcends national borders. Growing up in an artistic environment, Aket first encountered art in adolescence.
Aket Kubic interprets daily life, transforming routine and simple ordinary scenes into positive and surprising visions that speak to everyone. His work offers new perspectives on traditional scenes, giving the viewer a fresh look at the banal. His unique style is immediately recognizable, characterized by an emphasis on geometric objects like cubes and by a playful and experimental approach to art.
His unique approach to everyday life and cubism, combined with his playful experimentation, secures him a privileged place in contemporary art.
EXPLANATION OF THE WORK :
My childhood memories are inextricably linked to many holidays spent with my cousins, uncles and aunts, all natives of the enchanting land that is Brittany. This region, of unreal beauty and infinite mysteries, has always fascinated me. Between ancient legends, enchanting landscapes and living traditions, Brittany presents itself as an odyssey at the very heart of the human soul.
The Breton panoramas, of staggering majesty, unfold with their stormy coasts, golden sandy beaches, and this Gallet beach, the enigma of which still eludes me. Breton culture, rich and vibrant, has deeply imprinted itself on my mind; my uncle, a craftsman of a homemade elixir, brings an unmatched festive and warm atmosphere.
Whenever I relive these precious moments spent in Brittany, rocked by nature and the presence of my family, I feel a deep connection with this land that nourishes my inspiration. Perhaps, one day, these memories will become the subject of a full-fledged exhibition, as Coluche so nicely said: “Brittany is pretty, and besides it's not far from France.”
Mat varnish (non-yellowing, resistant to heat and UV light).
