Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) – “Aurora Ikea Cult” – Ikea - 5/20
Quand la marque devient une croyance.
After the success of the Aurora Borealis series, Aurora Original Counterfeit, Aurora Authentic Fake… AMA continues its ironic exploration of contemporary myths, between mass culture, global consumption and the blind trust granted to commercial icons.
“Aurora Ikea Cult” twists the imaginary of a universal brand into a luminous, chrome, hypnotic object, almost ritual.
On the front face, the message is clear:
" IKEA ", fixed as a symbol, recognizable above all.
On the sides, the formula asserts itself, no detour:
" IN / WE TRUST ".
A minimalist, immediate, universal profession of faith.
A contemporary belief carved in wood.
By day: a chrome, smooth, familiar icon.
By night: a multicolored aurora borealis blazing through space.
A brutal contrast between mass consumption and modern devotion.
Limited edition of 20 copies for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA authenticity certificate.
Fast and secure shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced carton) with signature on delivery.
Specifications:
- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (fixed, faded transitions, simple transitions)
- Power supply via USB cord with switch (included)
- Height: 20 cm
- Width: 9 cm
- Depth: 9 cm
Who is AMA?
Born from the fusion of talents of French artist friends, the AMA collective takes you into its universe blending vibrant colors and varied materials.
Sculptures, paintings and installations, the collective passionately employs a multitude of techniques to give life to its works.
The AMA collective mainly draws inspiration from the world around it but also from the currents of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.
Whether for a gift, a keepsake or your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, AMA pursues its urban art passion through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited edition or not), tackling a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury brands and haute couture, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food industry products and fashion (sport, sneakers…).
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, AMA likes to mischievously reinterpret labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many more.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort so that all information necessary to appreciate the lot sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unwarranted claims will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
