Description from the seller
Longines – Pocket watch (55mm) – Caliber 20.52 – Year 1913 – Coeval & Working.
Men's pocket watch from the Swiss manufactory Longines (Saint-Imier), dating to 1913 according to official records of serial numbers. The watch is presented in its original condition, never restored (only serviced previously) and perfectly functional. The piece boasts total coevality (matching numbers): the serial number engraved on the movement perfectly corresponds to the one stamped inside the case.
Longines (EFCo - Ernest Francillon & Co.) - Era: 1913
Movement: manual-wind mechanical movement of Longines manufacture, caliber 20.52. It features beautiful decorations on the barrel bridge and micrometric regulation lever Avant / Retard.
Dial: true original white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, railway minute track (chemin de fer) and small seconds at 6 o’clock. Blued steel hands in Poire style. Noted are fine cracks in the enamel between 9 and 11 o’clock, typical of the material and historically consistent.
Case: oversized, thick, high-quality silvered metal (stamped "A-1" and "79" on the case), with a double case back. Inside the back cover there is the round logo with the winged hourglass EFCo Longines and the serial number. On the inner rim you can see, incised with a superfine point, the historic maintenance stamps of the period watchmakers (including interventions dated 1940 and October 1943).
Dimensions: diameter 55 mm (excluding crown); total height with bow 76 mm; total weight 118 grams.
In generally good condition with normal signs of time and aging. The case shows a beautiful patina of time, the movement is clean and runs regularly, keeping time.
Shipping with tracking and insured over 300.00 euros, careful packaging.
