Description from the seller
UNDERWATER
95 x 70 cm
Acrylic on canvas · 2026
Underwater proposes a scene where the human figure integrates with the aquatic environment, dissolving the boundaries between body and surroundings. The face emerges frontally, serene, while the water is built through fluid brushstrokes that suggest constant movement.
The reflections on the skin generate a play of fragmented lights that evoke the distortion typical of water, adding an almost dreamlike dimension to the image. The fishes, distributed around the figure, introduce rhythm and accompany the composition without competing with the main focus.
The palette, dominated by intense blues and contrasted with vibrant oranges, creates a chromatic tension that reinforces the sense of depth and vitality. The whole conveys a silent atmosphere, where time seems suspended beneath the surface.
More than a narrative scene, the work is perceived as a state: an immersion into the introspective, where the figure and the water coexist in balance.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mar Legón develops a painting practice focused on exploring color as structure and emotion. Her work is characterized by clear compositions, formal synthesis, and vibrant contrasts that place the everyday in a contemporary territory.
Through still lifes, tropical scenes, and elements of the immediate environment, she builds a coherent and recognizable visual language. Each work is an original piece that reflects ongoing exploration of the balance between form, color, and space, consolidating a solid artistic identity with projection.
