Description from the seller
RED LAND
95 x 70 cm
Acrylic on canvas · 2026
Red Land builds a landscape where reality is transformed through color. The scene, framed by a rock formation that acts as a natural arch, directs the gaze toward an open horizon where a single tree becomes a visual anchor point.
The composition is carefully structured: the arch functions as a framing device, generating depth and guiding the viewer toward the center. The meandering water introduces movement and reflects the colors of the surroundings, adding dynamism to a scene that is essentially contemplative.
The palette is the most expressive element of the work. Intense reds, purples, and oranges dominate the foreground, contrasting with the clean blues of the sky and water. This chromatic choice breaks with naturalistic representation and places the painting in a more emotional and interpretive territory.
The result is a landscape that does not describe a specific place, but a perception: a synthesis between memory, imagination, and visual experience, where space becomes almost symbolic.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mar Legón develops a painting practice focused on the exploration of color as structure and emotion. Her work is characterized by clear compositions, formal synthesis, and vibrant contrasts that place the everyday in a contemporary territory.
Through still lifes, tropical scenes, and elements of the immediate surroundings, she builds a coherent and recognizable visual language. Each work is an original piece that reflects ongoing research into the balance between form, color, and space, consolidating a solid artistic identity with potential for growth.
