Description from the seller
Title: Máscara Fragmentada. Mixed media (watercolor, acrylic and treated papers) on canvas. 2025. Dimensions: 56 × 76 cm. Original painting by Natalia Revelles. Hand-signed on the front. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity. The artwork is shipped stretched on its wooden stretcher bars and securely packaged in a protective box for safe transit.
This artwork belongs to the The Other Dimension collection. The work is part of a pictorial exploration focused on emotional states and the invisible layers that shape identity. The figure appears veiled and constructed from overlapping fragments that erode and dissolve, as if the image were simultaneously emerging and disintegrating.
In this piece, the face—traditionally a marker of identity—becomes a vulnerable territory crossed by silences, fissures, and zones of absence. Through a material and subtly surreal language, the painting explores fragmentation as an essential condition of being.
Natalia Revelles López (b. 1983, Córdoba, Spain) is a painter whose work explores identity, memory, and the relationship between the human mind and nature.
She studied Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts Alonso Cano in Granada, graduating in 2006. Her practice combines portraiture with natural and symbolic elements, using expressive brushwork and layered techniques.
In recent years, her work has evolved toward a more introspective and symbolic language, incorporating mixed media, texture, and vibrant colour to create emotionally charged compositions.
