Collection plate from Nevers signed A Montagnon, diameter = 24 cm, in very beautiful condition.
Dating: Period of Gabriel Montagnon, who kept his father's signature Antoine). It is a piece from the "Belle Époque" of Nevers porcelain 1900-1930.
The decoration: The decor **G.d.M.** (Grand de Moustiers) illustrates the fascination of Nevers' potters with the provincial past décors. They reinterpreted these scenes with incredible finesse. The figure with a pipe (flutist) is a classic in the bucolic repertoire, symbolizing peace and country life, very fashionable in bourgeois interiors of the early 20th century.
The Green Knot: It is the emblem of the city of Nevers, here perfectly executed.
