Tobacco box (3) - Copper - Three copper tobacco boxes

This collection comprises three pieces of Dutch decorative copperwork, including two tobacco boxes and a candle box.

The objects are made of copper and decorated with traditional Dutch folk motifs such as windmills, rural cottages and sailing ships.

The techniques used include fine engraving on the flat surfaces of the boxes and repoussé (relief) on the wall panel to create three-dimensional floral and seascapes.
