Description from the seller
Andrea Garzón. An emerging visual artist, self-taught with specialized training in modern and contemporary art. Her work explores portraiture from an expressive, figurative perspective, with an intense color palette and influences from abstract realism.
"After Olympus" (2026). Oil painting. Unique original work.
This work presents a contemporary interpretation of a classical sculptural figure, depicted in a vibrant palette of intense greens on a deep cobalt blue background. The figure, with a serene and thoughtful expression, brings the hand to the chin in a gesture of reflection, evoking the tradition of Greco-Roman sculpture reinterpreted with a modern and expressive aesthetic.
The oil technique is evident in the visible brushstrokes and the rich texture of the surface, which bring vitality and movement to the composition. The contrast between the luminous green of the figure and the intense blue of the background creates a powerful visual tension, with a strong presence.
A piece that fuses classical artistic heritage with a contemporary chromatic sensibility.
Canvas dimensions: 40 × 50 cm (height × width), unframed.
The work is signed with paint in the lower left corner of the canvas.
