Box (2) - Wood, papier-mâché

Splendid lot composed of two vintage decorative collectible boxes from different geographic origins but united by refined artisanal craftsmanship. Both objects are in excellent internal condition. Russian lacquered box (Soviet period, 70s/80s) Dimensions: 10.5 cm (length) x 8 cm (width) x 4 cm (height). Subject: The lid depicts the majestic Ivan the Great Bell Tower within the Moscow Kremlin, based on the famous 19th-century painting by Eduard Gaertner. Technique: Traditional papier-mâché lacquered structure. The central image is an era-specific lithographic finish, embellished with the title of the work “Колокольня” (Kolokol’nya, i.e., "Bell Tower") handwritten with a brush in the bottom-left corner. Features: Interior lacquered in the classic Soviet vermilion red. Exquisite internal concealed metal hinge, inserted directly into the wall thickness of the box. Conditions: Excellent interior; the exterior lacquer shows the normal and slight signs of aging that attest to its authenticity.

Jewelry box in Sorrentino inlay (Made in Italy, second half of the 20th century) Dimensions: 10 cm x 10 cm (square). Technique: Authentic Sorrentino wooden inlay. The lid features a rich geometric and floral-baroque medallion pattern, created by juxtaposing noble woods of different natural tones. The perimeter is finished with a refined two-tone herringbone border. Features: Sturdy solid wood construction with a smooth unmarked outer base, typical of local workshop productions. Conditions: Interior in light wood perfectly clean and in impeccable condition. Exterior well preserved with very slight surface wear to the protective varnish on contact edges.
