A pair of glass art paperweights by Caithness (United Kingdom) from the late 20th century, two objects in good condition, one signed with spiralling iridescent blue, amber and lilac inclusions and bubbles and the other unsigned with pink, green and white marbled inclusions.
Description from the seller
A pair of art glass paperweights, including one signed Caithness, Scotland, late 20th century
A decorative pair of studio art glass paperweights, comprising one signed Caithness example and a companion unsigned abstract paperweight in a complementary palette. The signed Caithness weight of domed form incorporates spiralling iridescent ribbon inclusions in tones of blue, amber and lilac, interspersed with controlled air bubbles. The accompanying unsigned example features fluid marbled abstract inclusions in pink, green and white with similar bubble decoration.
Together, the pair presents an attractive contrast between structured orbital design and expressive painterly abstraction, making an appealing decorative grouping.
Condition is good overall, with expected wear to the undersides from display and handling. The signed Caithness example shows more noticeable scratching and shelf wear to the base, together with inventory marking to the underside. No major chips or cracks observed.
