Three bronze Buddha statues from Myanmar, dating to the mid-19th century, supplied with a stand and in good condition.
Description from the seller
DESCRIPTION
1) Popular votive statuette in metal alloy representing a meditating Buddha, the head surrounded by a circular halo, Burma, Laos or northern Thailand. Hand-cast with hollow interior. Beautiful patina from use and ancient corrosion. Circa 19th century, perhaps older.
5.1 cm height, 3.2 cm width, 1.7 cm depth.
2) Statuette in gilded bronze representing Buddha meditating under the Bodhi tree.
It is a statuette that was placed in reliquary rooms located under the temples. Burma/Myanmar, circa mid-19th century. Nice ancient patina.
7.8 cm height, 2.5 cm width, 1.2 cm depth.
It is presented on an artisanal wooden base.
3) Bronze votive statuette representing Buddha standing, dressed in the draped monastic robe, resting on a base in the shape of a stylized lotus.
The face with lowered eyes, long ears and the very developed conical ushnisha are characteristic of Theravada Buddhist traditions of Burma, with Shan influence.
Beautiful artisanal lost-wax cast hollow interior. The surface shows an ancient patina with green verdigris, coppery reds and accretions consistent with age, traces of gilding.
I prudently date it between the 17th and 19th centuries.
Nice folk craftsmanship, a statuette that was likely intended for domestic use or monastic use.
10.4 cm height, 3.6 cm width, 3 cm depth.
ETAT
Condition is good for pieces of this era, beautiful patina, oxidation (see photos)
They will be packed carefully in a professional, traceable shipment.
