Stunning and rare Irish sterling silver 925 snuff box. Masterfully crafted by silversmith H&F (maker's mark present as in the photo) in 1788 (mark present as in the photo) in 925 sterling silver with a horn lid adorned with a delightful and highly elaborate Neoclassical mythological scene. There is also the crowned harp mark indicating the city of Dublin (as in the photo) and the Hibernia mark (as in the photo).
Original period hinge coeval with the snuff box.
Extremely refined details throughout the piece.
Condition: excellent as shown in the photos, some age-related flaws due to use (firm, not loose) on the horn lid.
Dimensions: 9.5 cm x 7.5 cm x 1.7 cm.
