Description from the seller
ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXIST - EDITION 1/1
With this portrait-format artwork (40 × 60 cm), Medsan takes us on an anachronistic and dizzying mashup, merging the timeless grace of Japanese printmaking with one of the darkest figures in modern pop culture. Drawing inspiration from the mastery of ukiyo-e greats such as Hokusai and Hiroshige, this singular print features the Dark Knight of Gotham, solitary and majestic, contemplating a wild and untamable nature.
The visual poetry and dramatic power of the composition reside in the confrontation between the hero and the elements. Seen from behind, draped in his famous tattered cape that billows in the icy winds, Batman gazes at a snowy Mount Fuji, crushed by a turbulent sky. Immense swirls of clouds and smoke, treated with the swirling stylization typical of the Edo era, invade the space, while a blizzard sweeps across the plain. In a subtle reappropriation of classic codes, the traditional flight of cranes is here replaced by a swarm of bats cleaving the blizzard.
The impact of the composition is magistrally highlighted by a palette dominated by deep blue hues — recalling the famous Prussian blue —, brilliant whites, and the earthy tones of the winter vegetation in the foreground. The bold line, framed by a border with traditional geometric motifs, scrupulously respects the Ukiyo-e print aesthetics while infusing it with a clearly pop-art vitality. The traditional vertical cartouche at the top right, housing the artist’s signature in katakana (メドサン), completes this meditation on the solitude of the vigilante.
A majestic piece, at once epic, melancholic, and intellectual, ideal for adding a pop, graphic, and deeply offbeat touch to a design-centric contemporary interior.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists coming together around a living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a true production space, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual endeavors, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive quest, blending abstract art, Outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and followed within the studio, sharing a common artistic standard and a unique identity for each artist.
