Yves Offret (1946 – 2004)
Norman painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret dedicated his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, located in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of careful pictorial research focused on the landscapes, changing lights, and atmospheres of the region.
In the 1980s, he exhibited notably at Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work drew the attention of an audience sensitive to the poetry of his canvases. Faithful to a personal approach, Offret favors an intimate painting, where nature and scenes of daily life become poignant evocations, imbued with serenity.
Died in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a discreet but sincere body of work, testament to the artist’s attachment to his homeland and the simple beauty of everyday life.
