Description from the seller
EXCEPTIONALLY WITHOUT RESERVE!
A fascinating pair of 20th-century oil-on-board paintings, depicting elegant equestrian scenes set in a traditionally refined English rural context.
The works show riders, horses, and stable figures engaged in preparations and moments of gathering before a hunt or a ride, all immersed in a typically British atmosphere of great charm.
In the first painting we find a rider on horseback in front of the stables, conversing with some figures in the courtyard; the composition conveys calm and elegance thanks to the soft tones and delicate brushwork.
In the second painting a scene of arrival and meeting at a rural estate is depicted, with horses, riders, and a hunting hound enlivening the composition, adding movement and narrative depth.
Both works are characterized by a warm, earthy palette, with subdued atmospheres and light Impressionist influences in the rendering of the figures and the surrounding environment.
The swift yet precise brushwork lends authenticity and spontaneity to the scenes, making these works particularly decorative and pleasant to observe.
Paintings ideal for collectors of equestrian art, English hunting scenes, rural settings, and European decorative painting of the 20th century.
The pieces are set in elegant black lacquered wooden frames with a classic taste, perfectly matched to the sober and refined tones of the paintings.
Please note that, due to the age of the works, there may be small signs of time or slight imperfections compatible with the normal conservation of paintings.
The frames are offered as a free gift and will not be considered an integral part of the lot in case of damage during transport.
The photographs were taken under direct spotlight to best highlight details, textures, and the colors of the works.
Our shipments are fast, professional, and with carefully protected packaging: hence the related shipping costs.
Under current art regulations, no lot will be shipped outside Europe (Schengen area), except by private arrangement at the buyer’s full expense; any out-of-EU shipments may be more costly and subject to potential issues.
