Fascinating and theatrical painting from the 20th century, oil on canvas, depicting an allegorical, baroque and symbolist-style scenography, rich in mythological allusions and references to European historical painting.

The work presents an intense composition with allegorical figures laid upon a bed of coins, jewels and riches, in an atmosphere of strong visual and narrative impact.

On the left a demonic figure with a trident and tail appears, rendered with great expressive force, while on the right a noble female figure wrapped in precious fabrics and regal capes dominates the scene with elegance and authority.

The presence of the dog lying at the foot of the composition adds another symbolic and decorative element, contributing to the visual balance of the piece.

The chromatic contrast between the deep green background, the large red drape, and the warm tones of skin and gold gives the painting a strongly theatrical and scenographic character.

The brushwork appears free and tactile, with echoes of Expressionist painting and the fantastical figurative tradition of 20th-century Europe.
