Wood - Indonesia - 20th century

Traditional Indonesian wooden mask, probably from Java. Expressive facial features, painted with inlaid leather/skin portions for eyebrows and upper lip beard. Very fine mustache, only visible on one side. Lightweight wood, about 20x15x10 cm, 125 g. It is a newer object that probably has not been used. More decorative than functional.
