Description from the seller
Floor mirror “Nail” / “Lipstick” – Icon of Italian Space Age design from the 1960s-1970s
Authentic icon of Italian mid-century modernism, this famous floor mirror known as “Nail” or “Lipstick” perfectly represents the futuristic and visionary aesthetics of the Italian Space Age. With its slender, elegant silhouette, inspired by the shape of a nail or a lipstick, it is one of the most recognizable objects of Italian radical design from the late 1960s to the 1970s.
Made with a tubular ABS/PVC frame and a recessed oval mirror, the model stands out for its extraordinary formal purity: minimal, sculptural, and at the same time incredibly decorative. The vertical, tapered line gives visual lightness, while the glossy white finish enhances the object’s futuristic character, making it perfect in both vintage environments and contemporary interiors with refined taste.
The “Nail” mirror is today considered a symbol piece of Italian Space Age design, highly sought after by collectors, interior designers, and mid-century enthusiasts for its strong stage presence and its ability to transform any space into a sophisticated and cinematic setting.
The elegant, compact proportions make it ideal for entryways, bedrooms, living rooms, or design boutiques. A piece of furniture that combines function and sculpture in true Italian spirit of the 1960s.
Very good condition with normal and light signs of time compatible with age and use.
Adequate packaging and trackable shipping throughout Europe.
