Flemish or Italian school of the 17th-18th century – Mythological scene – Oil on canvas

Suggestive oil painting on canvas depicting a mythological scene, probably inspired by the tales of Bacchus and Ariadne or by a Bacchic allegory. At the center of the composition, a muscular male figure leads a young woman dressed with golden veils, accompanied by cherubs and allegorical figures immersed in a richly detailed woodland landscape. In the background, classical ruins and a fountain with nymphs can be seen, elements typical of Baroque or Rococo aesthetics.

The work is populated by putti, fruits, garlands and mythological figures that contribute to a festive, sensual and classical atmosphere. The brushwork is fluid and the attention to composition and light reveals an expert hand, influenced by late-Baroque models.
