MARIO ILLUSI "MILLUS"
Millus is the pseudonym of Mario Illusi, a Livorno-based artist born in 1925 and who passed away in 1992.
Like all artists from the Livorno milieu, Millus’s painterly production was predominantly landscape.
In Millus’s painterly work, strongly influenced by the Macchiaioli and post-Macchiaioli tradition, the description of the landscape shows a perfect union between descriptive realism and an impressionistic rendering of the perceptual data.
