Le Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien is a 316-page hardcover illustrated edition in French, published in 2013 by Christian Bourgois, issued as a limited luxury boxset with a case and include 14 original Tolkien illustrations.
Description from the seller
This edition is described as deluxe because it comes in a box with a leather-like cover. On the front of the box lies Tolkien's drawing of Smaug in red, bordered in gold, and a hole that reveals runes from the book’s cover underneath. The book itself has a rigid cover wrapped in a very light gray-blue, silky-feeling paper, while its spine matches the box. On the front matter, you can see the runes we saw through the box and the same dragon, and on the back matter, the monogram of J.R.R. Tolkien.
As for the content, this edition contains 14 original illustrations by the hand of J.R.R. Tolkien himself, although a layout error may indicate otherwise and sometimes a sticker has been placed over to correct it. The Thrór map unfolds outside the pages with the lunar runes readable by translucency when viewed against the light. The Wildland (Wastelands) map, meanwhile, is located at the end of the work on the inside of the cover. A preface by Christopher Tolkien, an introduction by Douglas Anderson, and a brief prologue precede the story.
