Description from the seller
SISC alias Saïd Sabir (born 1989, Tangier, Morocco)
Untitled – 2019
Acrylic, mixed media and aerosol on canvas
Original signed work
Format: 50 x 70 cm
In this vibrant and instinctive work, SISC energetically blends the codes of contemporary street art, graffiti and gestural drawing. On an explosive background of projections, tags and fluorescent colors, the artist brings forth the majestic silhouette of a deer, built through an interweaving of nervous and spontaneous lines.
The animal, a symbol of power, freedom and wild nature, contrasts here with the urban, saturated universe that surrounds it. This opposition between animal instinct and urban energy is one of the strengths of SISC’s work. The overlays of sprays, drips, splashes and black tracings give the composition a sense of perpetual movement and a strong visual intensity.
The work also bears witness to the influence of graffiti and hip-hop culture in the artist’s career, while retaining a true graphic and contemporary sensibility.
Born in Tangier in 1989, Saïd Sabir, known by the artist name SISC, is part of the new generation of Moroccan urban artists. A passionate draftsman since childhood, he develops a universe early on inspired by street art, graffiti and urban culture. His work is distinguished by great gestural freedom, dynamic compositions and a blend of figuration and abstraction. His works are today present in several private collections in Morocco and internationally.
