AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

MOJITO is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado inspired by the graphic aesthetics of old advertising posters and vintage editorial illustrations linked to tropical and Mediterranean imagery.

The work depicts a mojito served with ice, lime, and mint leaves on a clean, luminous composition, where glass reflections and intense colors evoke freshness and the relaxed atmosphere of summer bars.

Flavia Delgado blends influences from pop art, classic comics, and vintage editorial illustration, evoking old illustrated covers and graphic ads from the fifties and sixties. The bold black outlines and flat color areas recall the visual language of retro advertising and classic beverage posters.

The color palette in turquoise, citrus greens, and bright yellows adds energy and vitality to the composition, while the simplicity of the scene transforms a everyday object into an iconic decorative image.

The piece conveys a sense of leisure, summer, and tropical escapism, connecting with the visual culture of terraces, music, and outdoor gatherings.

MOJITO combines graphic design, pop culture, and contemporary sensibility in a work designed to bring freshness, color, and personality to the space.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
