Description from the seller
“Fureur du Cotentin” is a work deeply inspired by the wild power of the Norman coasts and by the artist’s intimate attachment to the Cotentin.
Through this dramatic scene, the lighthouse becomes much more than a simple maritime monument: it symbolizes resilience in the face of storms, solitude, memory and the light that remains despite the chaos.
The waves seem to threaten to engulf the stone, while the lighthouse stands upright, motionless, almost eternal. This image evokes the raw power of the English Channel, but also the emotional and spiritual bond the artist has with the Cotentin, its storms, its cliffs, its silences and its unique seascapes.
Inspired by the mysterious atmosphere of the northwest of Normandy, this work seeks to convey that particular feeling one experiences facing the sea in winter: something powerful, melancholic and deeply alive.
“Fureur du Cotentin” was conceived as an immersive and timeless piece, ideal for an elegant interior, an office, a coastal home or a private collection around the marine world and grand emotional landscapes.
