Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Mexican flag, 280 × 139 cm, made of cotton and Dralon, originating from Mexico, in good condition, featuring the green‑white‑red tricolor with the national coat of arms in the centre.
Description from the seller
Beautiful flag of Mexico in the classic green-white-red colors with the detailed national emblem in the center, an eagle perched on a cactus and holding a snake. That symbol comes from an ancient Aztec legend. According to the legend, the Aztecs had to build their city at the spot where they would see an eagle on a cactus with a snake. There the city of Mexico City later arose.
Manufactured in the 70s.
Made of cotton with a beautiful, bright screen print and an authentic look. The flag has a cotton band with a hanging loop. The white fabric is made of Dralon and the green and red of cotton.
The colors are vivid and the iconic design with eagle and snake makes this a true eye-catcher.
Special piece of history:
The French Foreign Legion (Legion Etrangère) under the leadership of Captain Jean Danjou played a crucial, mythical role during the French intervention in Mexico (1863-1867), notably through the legendary Battle of Camarón on 30 April 1863. During this battle 65 legionnaires fought to the death against an overwhelming 2,000 Mexican soldiers, symbolizing the courage and discipline of the Legion.
During the Hacienda Camarón, Captain Jean Danjou lost his wooden right hand prosthesis.
Size: 280 x 139 cm
