Description from the seller
Peter, please—a general and staff, many thanks in advance, hop!
Peter de Smet (Amsterdam, July 4, 1944 – Amsterdam, January 6, 2003) was a Dutch comic artist. He is best known for his humorous comic strip The General.
Peter de Smet was born on July 4, 1944, in Amsterdam. Because his father was a co-owner of an advertising agency, he too began a career in advertising after completing his MULO education, working at various agencies in Amsterdam, Antwerp, and Brussels.
In his spare time he drew comic stories. In 1968 he managed to get one of these stories, the humorous knight-strip Fulco, published in the Belgian magazine Het Kapoentje. Due to illness he had to interrupt this story halfway.
In 1985 he received the Stripschap Prize for his entire oeuvre.
