Description from the seller
Marine painting "The Blue Embrace" - 2026
This work stands out for its atmosphere that is at once peaceful, mysterious, and deeply poetic. It is rooted in a modern style that recalls Fauvism, evoking a Mediterranean or coastal scene frozen in time.
Complementary contrast: The artist uses a striking contrast between the omnipresent blue and the red-ochre of the house and the boat. The house seems to radiate like a source of warmth or a refuge in the midst of this cold vastness.
Blue as an "embrace": The blue saturates the space. The night or twilight sky of a deep ultramarine seems to descend and "embrace" the textured ground in a softer blue. This omnipresence gives the impression that nature envelopes human presence, the house, and the boat in a cocoon of serenity.
There is no visible human presence, which gives the scene an timeless, almost sacred quality. The house and the empty boat suggest solitude, but a chosen and soothing solitude. Time seems suspended, capturing that magical moment of twilight when the world tilts into the silence of night.
Unreal light: The shadows are very pronounced, but the light source remains mysterious. The ground is so light that one could almost believe in a snowy landscape, while the vegetation, parasol pines, and the architecture evoke the South. This play creates a dreamy atmosphere.
