Description from the seller

Aurora by Karl Lagerfeld, with gold metallic highlights applied post-printing, series “Mythology”

Heidi Mount embodies the Greek goddess Aurora of the sunrise; Aurora, sister of the sun and the moon, is the goddess of the dawn, associated with the first bright glimmers of her brother the sun. The lineage is cleverly emphasized here by the belt and the loincloth of the goddess, as beautiful as the day, and her flaming hair illuminated from behind.

Originally a 2010 shoot for the 2011 Pirelli Calendar on the theme of legends and myths of Greco-Roman mythology, embodied by the top models of the Chanel house led by Karl Lagerfeld.
The photo adopts a three-dimensional composition close to classical sculpture, with, to render it flat, black and white, very few shades of gray but a brilliant use of light and projected shadows, here sublimated by gold metallic highlights applied by hand after printing (unique copy).

The Pirelli Calendar 2011, considered one of the glamours of all time, reflects “the creative genius of Karl Lagerfeld.” It was presented in Moscow before an audience of collectors from around the world at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre.

Very large professional-grade print format 60 x 42. Sold unframed. Very thick matte photo paper certifies the “Forest Stewardship Council” (FSC) or FSC, derived from responsible management.
Sold unframed
