Virgilio Guidi, Volto, a 1969 mixed‑media portrait on paper, 40 × 35 cm, original edition, in excellent condition and sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Splendid original ink drawing on paper by the spatialist master Virgilio Guidi (1891–1984), dated 1969. The work is part of the famous cycle of the Volti (Faces), a central subject of the artist's mature production. In this piece, the minimalist sign of the 1960s and 1970s strongly emerges: the human figure is synthesized through a continuous, sinuous, and extremely fluid line, capable of defining volumes and facial expressiveness by using the white spaces of the sheet as an element of pure light. The work is entirely autographed, signed in cursive and dated "1969" in the lower right corner by the artist, enriched with a period dedication. It represents an exceptional opportunity for collectors of Italian Modern Art and Spatialism to acquire an intimate and historically significant piece by the master active between Rome and Venice.
Dimensions of the work without a frame: 22 x 28.5 cm
Fast and insured shipping, careful packing, any customs duties charged to the buyer.
