​Description: Extraordinary and rare thematic collection composed of 13 art paperweights (presse-papiers) made in precious crystal from the famed French manufactories Baccarat and Cristal d'Albret, dating mainly to the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
​Each piece is a masterpiece of artisanal craftsmanship, created with the complex solfuro technique (ceramic inlay/encrustation), which involves inserting a finely detailed cameo in opaque glass paste or porcelain inside the molten crystal. The collection centers on great icons of world history, with a strong emphasis on Presidents of the United States.

​Baccarat – Martin Luther King Jr.: Rare solfuro with gold finish on a splendid deep blue radiating background.
​Cristal d'Albret – John F. Kennedy & Jacqueline Kennedy: Limited edition (Specimen No. 346 of only 2000 in the world), carved by master Georges Simon. Includes the original certificate attesting to the destruction of the mold.
​Baccarat – Napoleon Bonaparte: Classic faceted cut with cameo profile on a dark background.
​Baccarat – Andrew Jackson: Cameo on emerald green background finely worked in a radiating pattern.
​Baccarat – Harry S. Truman: Cameo on amber/topaz yellow background.
​Baccarat – Theodore Roosevelt: Cameo on deep black background.
