Vase - Sommerso - Glass

A striking glass vase made using the Sommerso technique, which is characterized by layers of contrasting colors, in this case cobalt blue and yellow-green. Based on visual matches, these vases are often attributed to Italian glassmakers of the 1960s and 1970s, such as the Fratelli Toso companies or designs in the style of Flavio Polio. The lower, lighter part of the vase probably contains uranium glass, which emits a characteristic neon green glow under UV light.
