Verssan finds in pastel a way to own the body through play of curves, voids and plenums, shadows and lights by rubbing, blending and blowing the material onto the paper. The artist treats his subjects using monochromes while playing with the color of the support in warm gray tones, revealing both softness and delicacy but also strength and virility.
