What is it and what is it for?
It is a set of measuring instruments that includes:
Barometer (left): Measures atmospheric pressure. The French terms (Pluie - Rain, Variable, Beau - Good weather) indicate the weather forecast according to the movement of the needle.
Thermometer (right): Indicates the ambient temperature in Celsius.
Decorative Medallion: At the top you can see an embossed relief of the Eiffel Tower, which confirms its French origin or inspiration.
Hooks: The base includes small hooks, suggesting it also functions as a rack for keys or light objects.
Based on its design and materials (carved wood and analog dials), this type of piece typically dates from the mid-20th century, roughly between the 1950s and 1970s. Some similar variants with rougher finishes can date back to the early 20th century (circa 1900‑1920), but the dial style in this model is characteristic of the mid-century era.
It also has a coin embedded in the wood with the beautiful silhouette of the Eiffel Tower — original and unique. precious.
