Classical Japanese Hagi ware chawan with a characteristic soft beige-white feldspar glaze and fine craquelé (kannyu), typical of Hagi ceramics. Simply and unobtrusively formed, conveying a quiet and restrained presence. Stamped to the base, artist unidentified. Semi-antique piece, likely early to mid-20th century (Taishō to early Shōwa period). Presented with a later wooden storage box.
In good condition considering its age. Tea patina to the lower interior. Origin: Japan. Dimensions: approx. 13.5 cm diameter × 8.7 cm height. Weight: approx. 440 g. Will be carefully packed and shipped with DHL.
