Description from the seller
19th–20th Century (Possibly Earlier) Chinese Calligraphy Scroll
Description
This is an elegant piece of antique Chinese calligraphy, possibly dating to the 19th–20th century or earlier. The work consists of four large Chinese characters executed in black ink, accompanied by a red seal impression in the upper section.
The ink has developed visible age-related crackling, indicating considerable age and long-term natural aging. Upon close examination, traces of a former gilt floral decoration can still be seen on the paper. Although these decorative elements have faded significantly over time due to storage conditions, they remain partially visible and add to the historical character of the piece.
The calligraphy possesses a strong visual presence and reflects the traditional aesthetic of Chinese scholarly art. It was previously housed in a frame; however, the frame has been removed to facilitate safer and more economical transportation.

The paper shows signs of age and wear, including repairs, tears, and areas of damage. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
