Description from the seller

Murano Latticino / Zanfirico Perfume Bottle with Leaf Gold Stopper

ca. 1950/1960

Object description :

Exquisite, hand-blown mid-century perfume bottle made of Murano glass (Venice, Italy).

This fine collectible was crafted in the demanding latticino technique (specifically Zanfirico filigree work).

The bottle stands out with a masterfully symmetrical and perfectly even, spirally woven thread pattern consisting of alternating turquoise blue and opaque white glass lines.

The artfully twisted stopper made of clear crystal glass was refined on the exterior with fine real leaf gold using the traditional cold gilding technique.

Details & Condition:

Origin:
Murano, Venice (Italy). Stylistically and in execution a classic masterpiece from the circle / workshops of Fratelli Toso. Age: approx. 1950s / 1960s (Mid-Century Modern).

Dimensions:

Height including stopper: 11.5 cm

Diameter/Width: 4.7 cm.

Weight: 85 grams
(ultra-thin, light and elegantly hand-blown).

Base marks:
Clear, rough pontil scar as unequivocal proof of genuine handcraft; the base is authentically inwardly curved.

Condition: Exellent, undamaged collector’s condition! No cracks, no chips, no flecks and no rubbing marks or scratches on the base. The stopper shows the age-appropriate, minimal and fully authentic wear of the leaf gold on the surface, which underscores the originality and history of this real vintage piece.

An absolute highlight for collectors of historic Venetian glass art! Shipping is performed with extremely secure packaging.
